More Than a Prophet
In the New Testament, we find an ocean of characters that we often hear about, whether it's the disciples or people Jesus healed, but rarely do we hear about John, son of Zacharias. Who is this man and why does Jesus speak about him so often and the fact that he is mentioned in all four gospels? Join us as we uncover principles and the importance of John in today's time as we look at the life and legacy of John the Baptist.
Jonah: Arise and Go
When we study the Bible we find certain characters who needed to be reminded what their responsibilities were. Often times these characters were involved in other things but not in what God wanted and needed them to be. Join us as we study the life of Jonah and we find timeless principles that could help us follow God's will for our lives.
Deliverance
If you read the book of Revelation from cover to cover you will discover symbols, images and animals. However, what you will also uncover is a rescue plan that heaven has designed to deliver God’s people from this world. For the next few weeks, we are going to hear amazing stories of people being rescued, but more importantly, how their lives can remind us of what God wants to do with us throughout time.
A Marriage Worth Saving
We are going to look at what makes a healthy home and a healthy marriage. Sadly, in our society marriages are so easily discarded. If both parties in a relationship no longer find interest in each other then they move on to a new relationship. However, the Bible reveals some timeless principles, that if we apply them to our lives, can strengthen our relationships and bring us true fulfillment.
Now’s the Time
Every new year we begin with a Spiritual discipline - doing something spiritual to get us closer to God. This year, it is our hope and desire for you to come to church, our church or any church. The church is the means by which God has allowed for us to grow and help others grow spiritually. Yes, we can read the Bible and pray on our own but being a part of the body of Christ is what it means to belong to a local church. As we look into the texts of Hebrews 10:19-25 we will find principles that remind us of the importance of going to church. We’ll examine how the author encouraged their listeners of what blessings they’d receive when they consistently gathered together with other believers.
Pray 4 Me
Every day we meet people and interact with them at work, school, church or in our community. We see them and cordially say hello, but what if we actually do more? What if we intentionally pray for them? This series looks at four individuals to intentionally pray for: Our community, our children, our country and our church. These prayers will deliberately ask God for opportunities to see His power in their lives. The question that everyone will be asking us at the end of this series is 'Can you pray for me?'
Keep Wearing the Armor of God
We want to remind you to keep wearing your armor. Don’t let your guard down. There are no holidays for superheroes and there are no holidays for Christians either. You don’t get any days off! There is no day that the enemy is not trying to attack you. In this series, we will analyze each article of the armor of God and remind ourselves of why we need it and why we can't take it off.
Facing Your Giants: Chronicles from the Book of Joshua
Joshua is a book that teaches us about “faith in conquest." God had promised the Israelites a land that no longer belonged to them. Joshua and the Israelites were going to face giants, but only with God's help were the giants going to be reduced from size. What giants do you have in your path to your celestial Canaan and how are you handling them? With the tools we will learn from the book of Joshua, we know that God will strengthen our faith to conquer our own giants.
In Search of Joy: The Book of Philippians
Paul writes many of the epistles of the New Testament. He writes, while in prison in Rome, the letter to the church of Philippi. Despite his circumstance, he reminds the early church how he uncovered joy and happiness. Many are searching for joy. Paul tells how he has found it. Now more than ever we need to be reminded, through this letter, the purpose of our lives and how we, like Paul, can find joy despite the pain and sorrow we face.
Choose Love
Our world is made up of relationships, and relationships come in different sizes and are never the same. We will be studying the lives of different couples, and see the many challenges each of them went through and how each of them "chose love." Because choosing to love is different from remaining in love or retaining love. As we journey through these different couples, we will learn life applicable lessons for all of our relationships.
Heaven Is … ?
Heaven is real and heaven is waiting for us. This life may have its hold on us, but our hearts are connected to a heavenly place. Christians hear about heaven through the scriptures but how many of us focus our attention on this celestial city. As we study this important concept, we will begin to understand that this world is not our final home.
Setting Time to Read
As followers of Christ we must walk in His ways, but we first must know what His ways are and where we can find them. His ways are found in scripture and until we set time daily to read the Word, we will be searching for His ways. The question is, why don't we spend more time reading the Bible? Through this series, we will discover what it means to read the Bible and how its words benefit our lives and the world we live in.
A Gift for a Prince
"A Gift for a Prince" is a study of our favorite characters from the nativity scene. We will be walking in the footsteps of the shepherds, wise men and ultimately Joseph and Mary and ask ourselves, "What gifts did they offer to Christ?” This Christmas we will be evaluating the gifts that God has given us and how we can share those same gifts back to the Lord.
It Was Just a Dream
Many times we find in scripture stories that stand out not for their heroism, but for their endurance. Joseph is a person in the Old Testament whose character was tried and through it all we find a man who trusted God. What life lessons can we learn and apply from a man who lost everything, yet trusted God through it all?
This is Us
Who are Seventh-day Adventists? I am sure you have heard that question before. However, before you answer it this series is geared for that response. We are Seventh-day Adventists but what does that mean? What do we believe and why do we believe it? This series looks at some of the key distinct doctrines of the Adventist Church.
Circles Are Better Than Rows
"Circles are better than rows," is a phrase that reminds us of the importance of small groups. Often time we go to church and sit in rows and we leave but we never make connections. Life groups in our church are what we call small groups. We believe as a church this will help us grow together as well as grow deeper with God.
An Unknown God: Getting to know the Holy Spirit
When Jesus promised his disciples that the Holy Spirit would come to take his place, they probably asked themselves who was the Holy Spirit? Through this series, we will begin the conversation of who is God the Holy Spirit? What evidence do we have in scripture to understand his role in our lives? Join us as we start trying to wrap our minds on the Holy Spirit or an unknown God.
The Body of Christ
This series is about the church and how everyone plays a part in the process of saving others. We will look at the different reasons many people stop coming to church. We desire that you not only listen to these messages, but also become an active member of the Grand Prairie Church.

Amazing Grace
September 17, 2022 | Pastor Carlos Pasillas
What is amazing about grace that the world cannot understand? That Jesus chooses people who are not qualified to serve him, people who have a tainted past, people who don't get a second glance. That is why! Come and listened to a person who found favor in the eyes of Christ because of God's amazing grace.
Made to Last Forever
June 25, 2022 | Pastor Carlos Pasillas
Often times we believe that things will last forever, yet time and time we are reminded that nothing is forever. The New Testament mentions a couple who believed that money could last forever. Sadly, their lives come to an end and their example is a reminder that what matters most and lasts forever is God's love. We should seek after God's love and forgiveness. If we put our focus on those things we never have to worry about it coming to an end. Come and hear how God wants you to know what is it, what is made to last forever. (Sermon starts at 36:35)
Heroines of Faithfulness
June 11, 2022 | Edith Otieno
In Exodus 1:15-21, we learn from Shiphrah and Puah that the fear of God is the most important virtue, one which also beautifies the daughters of God. When we remain faithful in obedience to God, He is faithful in blessing us. (Sermon starts at 54:50)

The Sabbath After
April 30, 2022 | Pastor Danail Tchakarov
Pastor Danail returns home to Texas and dedicates this message in loving memory of Melanie Belz. As we grieve, let us remember that Jesus died but then He rose. The Sabbath connects the death of Jesus to the resurrection of Jesus. After death there is resurrection and God has appointed every Sabbath to remind us that both events in our lives are real as they were real in the life of Jesus. (Sermon starts at 47:45)
What Are You Thankful For?
November 27, 2021 | Pastor Carlos Pasillas
What are you thankful for? This Thanksgiving you had the opportunity to share it with your friends and family, however as Christians we should be thankful every day. We are blessed but often we don't see what we have, rather we tend to want what we already have. Today, we will look at the life of a well-known character in the New Testament. We don't know his name but we know him as the prodigal son. What principles can we learn about this story that can relate to our own relationship with God? (sermon starts at 49:00)
God Doesn’t Give Up
November 20, 2021 | Pastor Carlos Pasillas
A special communion worship service. It’s a time to reflect upon what Jesus has done for us, and to respectfully express this gratitude as a church family. It's also the perfect time to be thinking about how we can grow in Christ and best honor Him with our lives. If we’re living in faith of what Jesus did and continues to do for us, He counts us as worthy. He wants us to joyfully celebrate the Lord’s Supper.
The Path of Life
November 6, 2021 | Pastor Carlos Pasillas
We all want the happy ending, but in order for us to have a successful life we need to make appropriate choices to help us get there. Making appropriate steps in the right direction will lead you to the right destination. Today, we will look at a character who was given a choice and unfortunately he chose incorrectly. He did what most people do and chose accordingly to his own happiness instead of seeking to please God. When we allow God in our choices, we will be able to follow and remain in the path of life. (sermon starts at 54:40)

A Lesson in Obedience
September 25, 2021 | Pastor Carlos Pasillas
A famous story in the Old Testament is that of a father and son, Abraham and Isaac. Typically, we always hear about Abraham and the test but what if we can see this story through the lens of Isaac? What lessons can Isaac teach us about this story and how does this relate to our lives today? One thing is for sure, both Abraham and Isaac learned a great deal on obedience that fateful day.

If It Was That Easy
March 20, 2021 | Pastor Carlos Pasillas
Sometimes we have higher expectations with God in certain things we are facing. God is wanting to teach us that obedience doesn't always make sense; all we need to do is lean to trust God . Naaman had to relearn that important truth and maybe we do too.
