What Are You Waiting For?

January 29, 2022 | Pastor Carlos Pasillas

There are some important decisions in our lives that fall into one of two categories, "Commodity or Necessity." A commodity is something useful or helpful. Necessity is something indispensable for instance eating, sleeping, breathing. You can’t negotiate something that is a necessity. Let me ask, where does coming to church fall under? Where does belonging to a church? In this series we have taken a strong stand to say that coming to church should be a necessity. Today, we will finalize on what should be the attitude of each believer when faced with an important decision. Scripture: Hebrews 10:39

Benefits of Being a Member

January 22, 2022 | Pastor Carlos Pasillas

How can we convince you to be a member of the local church? Maybe if we begin giving out things, perhaps that might convince some. Hebrews tells us that through Christ and His death the church can have a life changing effect on us. Through the death of Jesus, we have acceptance and forgiveness and that is one of the many benefits you can receive when you belong to a church. Listen to how one man's journey with Christ gave him so many blessings in return. Scripture: Hebrews 10:23-24

Hebrews tells us of a church who is being persecuted and is suffering by exterior pressure. The author makes emphasis to encourage them not to lose hope, to patiently endure the hardships. Today, many in the church are persecuted by other members in the church. How do you handle the flaws inside the church? Many are searching elsewhere for a church because they don't want to continue in their current church. Listen to what it means to search for the perfect church. Scripture: Hebrews 10:35-36

Assembly Required

For the past two years, the church has tried a wide variety of ways of providing services to its members. Whether it was virtually or in a parking lot, the church found ways to remain connected. Hebrews 10:24-25 is a reminder for all of us to continue to meet together whether in person or virtually. However, there are things that cannot be done virtually that can only be done in person. For instance, we can't bless online, lay hands on one another or even baptize online. It is very important for your spiritual growth to be connected to the church and Hebrews is a good reminder of that. Scripture: Hebrews 10:24-25
