Pray for our Church

October 23, 2021 | Pastor Carlos Pasillas

What is a church? Is it the building, the people, the truths we hold on to? Often times, church can have all those things and as we see in the church of Laodicea it had all those things. However, the one thing it lacked was a personal relationship with Christ. As we conclude this series, the one thing we want to ask God for is that our church has everything it needs, including Jesus. Because, like the Pharisees and the rich young ruler, we can have our checklist checked off but until we realize our need for a deeper relationship with God, everything else won't be helpful. Scripture: Revelation 3:19-20

Pray for our Country

October 16, 2021 | Pastor Carlos Pasillas

When Christians are asked about politics, often times they chose not to answer because of how sensitive the issue can be. However, when Jesus was asked a political question, he responded with confidence. Today we will learn what politics should be for a Christian and how Jesus taught us to keep things in their proper place. Whenever we speak about politics, we should keep these two important truths in mind: 1. We await no human savior. As God allowed governments to exist, no candidate or party will save man or redeem this marred sinful world. 2. We are bought with blood and are citizens of Christ’s eternal kingdom. We are called not just to choose sides on the political spectrum, but rather pray for each of them. Pray for our leaders so that they can continue giving us the freedoms we have. Pray for our leaders so they, too, can have an encounter with Jesus. Scripture: 1 Timothy 2:1-3

Pray for our Children

October 9, 2021 | Pastor Carlos Pasillas

Today, we are going to talk about an idea that a group of parents wanted to do. Often, parents have a long list of options to provide for their children. There are better things your child can do, but the best thing you can do for your child is bring them to Jesus. As parents it is our responsibility to lead our children to Jesus. Bringing them to church is one way we can bring our kids to Jesus. Ultimately, these parents received a blessing from Jesus and they made the best decision that day. Let us follow the pattern of these parents who were determined that day to meet Jesus and receive His blessing. Scripture: Luke 18:15-17

Pray for our Community

October 2, 2021 | Pastor Carlos Pasillas

“Pray for me,” is an expression commonly used, but we want to personify this concept by intentionally praying for someone other than ourselves. The first group we will be praying for is our community. We must pray to God to create opportunities for us to share the gospel within our communities. Scripture: Colossians 4:2-3
