Keep Wearing the Armor of God

Ready for Battle

September 11, 2021 | Pastor Carlos Pasillas

There are two major themes throughout this series. 1. We are in a spiritual war and each piece of the armor will protect us spiritually. They will help us internally and keep us from harm. 2. We must constantly wear all six pieces of armor. There are no pieces greater than the other. All are necessary. Today we will conclude with the final three pieces: the shield of Faith, helmet of Salvation, sword of the Spirit.

What do all six pieces have in common? They can be used defensively and offensively. They are meant to protect you and protect others. Wearing all six pieces is a choice we make daily. Do we want to wear the armor or are we hoping that nothing bad will happen if we don't? God has given us enough information for us to choose to follow Him and keep wearing the armor of God. Scripture: Ephesians 6:16-17

Fasten Your Shoes

September 4, 2021 | Pastor Carlos Pasillas

In today’s passage, we find Paul describing a piece that we really don’t preach about: shoes. But every shoe we use has a purpose. Paul is not just wanting to say put on any type of shoe. Paul is emphasizing the action of wearing shoes. Paul wants to draw the line between wearing shoes and using shoes with a purpose. Because ultimately, shoes have a purpose. Paul wants us to know what the purpose of our shoes are and what we should do - preach the good news. If more people preached the good news more people would know about the God of Peace. Scripture: Isaiah 52:7

Fasten Your Body Armor

Today’s piece of armor is a breastplate. Made of heavy metal, the breastplate covered the torso from neck to the hip, protecting the vital organs of the body. It was made to protect you from serious injury or death. Like the helmet, this piece of armor kept you from a mortal wound. It was not a weapon but a layer of protection. Your life was dependent on wearing your full armor. When we wear our body armor the Bible is clear that we will stand up to the enemy. When you put on the full armor, what you won’t do is run. When you put on the full armor what you won’t do is kneel. The problem comes when we stand and haven’t put anything on. Scripture: 2 Corinthians 10:3-4

Fasten Your Belt

August 14, 2021 | Pastor Carlos Pasillas

Paul tells us what we are up against in Ephesians 6:12 but after verse 14 we begin to understand each item a Roman officer would wear and why. Today, we will look at the belt of truth. What is the belt of truth? We wear the belt of truth because it represents who is Truth. This Truth is not a knowledge or a feeling, rather it is the person of Christ. The wearing of the belt of truth means that you know who you belong to and why we need to represent Him wherever we go. If you call yourself a Christian, then let me remind you that there is a war, and you can’t go into battle without your full armor. Scripture: Ephesians 6:14

Keep on Wearing the Armor of God

August 7, 2021 | Pastor Carlos Pasillas

We have a common enemy, but God has given us the armor to defeat him. The armor is given to protect us but also to oppose the enemy. That’s why it is crucial to understand the importance of wearing the armor of God. So many people face the enemy without their proper protection. It's imperative, it's crucial because without the armor you won’t be able to stand. You can’t face the enemy with just a helmet or just a sword. He is relentless and every piece of the armor is necessary. Scripture: Ephesians 6:10-11
